I carried darkness in my bag,
To set it free, I sought out light,
Bearing fire, bearing slag.

Believing in time, my slag might drop.

When it chimed, dark beamed away.
Time stayed on, it was here to stay.
I moved on, but forgot that bag,
Where in darkness lies that slag?
